Une monographie consacrée aux Micro-événements de Tsuneko Taniuchi depuis 1995 jusqu’à aujourd’hui.
Micro-événement est le terme qu’elle a créé pour désigner ses performances. Cet ouvrage se présente comme une synthèse du travail de Tsuneko, avec une introduction, “Ambigus petits théâtres de perturbation” de Paul Ardenne, un texte d’Evelyne Jouanno et deux entretiens réalisés avec Nathalie Giraudeau et Cécile Bourne. Tsuneko Taniuchi, elle-même performeuse, élargit la notion du corps lors de ses performances en établissant un ensemble de situations sociales, culturelles et politiques, entre le spectateur et l’artiste.
«J’allie le réel, manifesté par ma présence physique ou/et par celle d’un groupe, et la fiction, qui se développe à partir d’un “scénario”, d’une mise en scène. Je multiplie les niveaux de réceptivité du spectateur pour lui procurer une nouvelle expérience qui peut aussi bien être physique, temporelle que sensorielle.»

Tsuneko Taniuchi, née au Japon, vit et travaille à Paris depuis 1987. Elle travaille principalement dans le domaine de la performance, mais également de l’art visuel, de l’ installation et de la vidéo.
Ses récentes performances et expositions ont été présentées au Centre Pompidou en 2010, à Lilith performance Studio, Malmö, Suède, à «La Force de l’art 02» au Grand Palais et au MuHKA, Anvers, Belgique en 2009. D’autres ont eu lieu précédemment au Théâtre Vrijthof, Maastricht, Pays-Bas en 2008, «Feminist Art Base», Brooklyn Museum, New York en 2007, à «La Force de l’art 01» au Grand Palais en 2006, au Centre Culturel Suisse à Paris en 2005, au MAC/VAL, au Palais de Tokyo en 2004, à la galerie Jennifer Flay en 2002, au Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris en 2000.
“Micro Events of Tsuneko Taniuchi” out now
A monograph devoted to Tsuneko Taniuchi’s Micro Event from 1995 until today.
Taniuchi invented the term Micro Event for her performances. This monograph appears as the synthesis of Tsuneko’s work with the introduction “Ambiguous Little Theaters of Perturbation” by Paul Ardenne, a text by Evelyne Jouanno and two interviews realized with Nathalie Giraudeau and with Cécile Bourne.
Taniuchi herself is a performing artist, broadens the notion of body in her performances to construct social, cultural and political situations between the viewers and the artist.
”I combine reality, manifested by my physical presence or/and by that of a group of people, and fiction based on a scenario and its staging. Macro-events are those things – such as natural disasters, wars, and so on – that are relevant to collective memory. Micro, on other hand, is relevant to every-day life, it is what happens on an individual scale and is inscribed in his memory.”

Tsuneko Taniuchi was born in Hyogo, Japan. Since 1987 she has lived and worked in Paris. She is a performance artist but also works in video and in installation. Recently she presented her work among others at Center Pompidou in 2010, at Lilith Performance Studio, Malmö, Sweden, at “La Force de l’art 02”, Grand Palais, Paris and at MuHKA, Antwerp, Belgium in 2009.
