Micro-Event n° 30 /Rock Concert

As part of the night of performance POST-HIAIUS, organized by Joël Hubaut to coincide with the publication of his book, Joël Hubaut Re-Mix Epidémik Esthétique de la dispersion, published by Editions Les Presses du réel, I propose “Micro-Event n° 30 /Rock Concert.” I’m staging the cult of the Rock Star: Elvis Presley, the kitsch manner, glamorous and hyper off-beat. I mime to recordings of “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Unchained Melody, ”etc.
A visual concert, physical with outrageous and exaggerated gestures and pompadour hairstyle. The program: costume, garishly bad taste décor, the spirit of revolt, provocation, and transgression. This stage performance not only transforms an artist into a rock star, but a woman into a man. An event not to be missed!
